Meet Leslie – Charleston Family Law Attorney
Armstrong Family Law was founded by Leslie Armstrong to serve the needs of families and individuals in the Charleston area. Leslie received her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law and is a member of the South Carolina and North Carolina Bar.
In addition to a solid foundation in family law, Leslie also has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, is a member of numerous industry groups, and offers her knowledge to others through speaking engagements and teachings at a variety of events. This, in combination with an extensive list of certifications and education, makes Leslie a premier choice for families in South Carolina.
Leslie was a member of the Psi Chi National Psychology honor society at Furman University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2007. From there, she went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2011. She has been licensed to practice law as a member of the South Carolina Bar since 2012 and as a member of the North Carolina State Bar since 2013. Following licensure, she went on to earn her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University in 2016 where she was a member of the Chi Sigma Iota International Counseling Honor Society. She became a Certified Family Court Mediator in 2015 and went on to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LPC/A) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) in 2017.
Leslie is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), the Parental Alienation Study Group (PASG), and the Mediation and Meeting Center of Charleston (MMCC). She is a trained provider for Family Bridges, co-founder of Alienation S.P.E.A.K.S., and she has received specialized training from the Center for Cooperative Parenting. In addition to her state bar memberships, she is also a member of the Charleston County Bar and the Family Court Section within the South Carolina Bar.
Leslie offers trial consulting and expert witnessing services to attorneys around the state, who are involved in parental alienation cases at any stage of litigation and are in need of innovative strategy geared toward alienation cases. She also offers consultation services to mental health professionals who have been subpoenaed or contacted in connection to family court cases involving their clients, or who otherwise have questions with regard to their rights, obligations, and best courses of action with regard to family court issues.
